The Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Republic of China (STAM) was founded on December 27, 1977 and has been a member of the International Union of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (IUTAM) since 1979. STAM aims to promote research and application in all fields of theoretical and applied mechanics and to provide a national communication forum to foster exchange of ideas among mechanics communities. Society activities include academic congresses and symposia, publication of journals, distribution of Society newsletters and congress proceedings and cross-strait academic forums and educational camps.
