The Journal of British Studies (JBS) is the official publication of the North American Conference on British Studies (NACBS). Over more than fifty years it has positioned itself as one of the critical resources for scholars of British culture from the Middle Ages through to the present. Drawing on both established and emerging approaches, JBS presents scholarly articles and books reviews from renowned international authors who share their ideas on the history of British society, politics, law, economics, and the arts.

The journal has a circulation of just under 2,000 print copies.  The largest single sector of its audience is comprised of historians teaching and researching British history in colleges and universities in North America, but JBS is also read by a significant international audience of specialists in British history, literature, art history, politics, law, sociology, and economics.   JBS is ranked by Thomson-Reuters as one of the world’s premier academic journals in history by its citation impact and as such it provides an excellent platform for advertising products, materials and events which relate to the academic study of Britain and its past.
