  • Annalisa Buffa is a leading expert in the numerical analysis of partial differential equations, with a special attention to structure preserving methods and to computational electromagnetics. She has been invited speaker in several international conferences, among which the European Congress of Mathematics (2008) and the European Congress on Computational methods in Applied Science and Engineering (ECCOMAS, 2012). In 2008, she was awarded a Starting Grant by the European Research Council.

  • Jean-Frédéric Gerbeau is a researcher at INRIA and Université Pierre et Marie Curie. His research interests include mathematical modeling and numerical methods in mechanics and biomedical engineering. He has been involved in several industrial projects and has taught in various institutions including Ecole des Ponts and Stanford University. His awards include the Communication & System prize in scientific computing in 2002, the Pierre Faurre Prize in 2008 and the Alcan Prize in 2010.
