Aaron Ziegel is a visiting lecturer in musicology at the University of Illinois where he earned his Ph.D. in 2011. His research explores the opera-writing efforts of U.S. composers during the early decades of the twentieth century. He has also published articles on the film music of Philip Glass and on the career and compositional language of Vernon Duke (Vladimir Dukelsky).
